Thurs, 15th - The Anchor Hotel, Burnham-on-Crouch

Our first gig of 2007...and what a gig it was to. There's me half expecting to be singing to the drunks proping up the bar but no, the place was packed!!! It was thursday!!!! The alcoholics must have been out hehe...

For once, I wanted to sit and chill before the storm comes, and managed to get to the pub nice and early, and sit and have a pint, and glorious it was indeed. The rest of the guys turned up about 7.30ish and started the slog of setting up our fort of instruments, wires and shiny things that gary hits occasionally. It took an hour overall and my my, what a splended little fort we'd made. An adjustment in the PA system meant we were running our old PA speakers out the front and our million watt speaker was being used as a fold back....a very good combination it seems - don't over power a room with watts of noise, sometimes smaller is better!!!

The pub slowly filled, but people kept coming in, was quite amazing.....we started at 9pm, and rocked our littel hearts out. Had to show case some new tracks, which went down a storm and well, they could have been a little more rehearsed, but everyone rose to the challenge and for 'chasing cars', a snow patrol number, gary did us justice!! Awsome.

For once I walked away from the end of the gig, pleased and proud at what we'd created, I think we're nearly there with definitive sets and songs which can send shivers down your spine, or make you want to jump with joy with remenants from the past.....

Compliments flew about in the 'intermission', compliments to the chef, to guitar's, and to myself for sounding like the snow patrol guy and chris rea! Is there anyone I don't sound like these days? However, if they can compare me to their favourite singer's and be pleased I did them justice, I am most grateful!

For the first gig of 2007, I can tell we've a good year ahead of us.
